DEVCO’s story is a simple one, really. They partnered with a great concept and applied sound business practices with

In 2013, the Boardmans approached the Village Baker founders and strategized a plan to expand the brand. In late 2013, they brought in an additional partner, Dow Jones, and opened their first Village Baker in Sandy, Utah in November 2014. David, who is DEVCO’s CEO says, “We always loved Village Baker and knew right away it could be a successful brand. Great sandwiches, great pizza, amazing desserts… We knew the menu would stand the test of time. It’s the kind of restaurant you can enjoy with your friends and family everyday and it’s always good. Village Baker was the perfect place for us to start and prove that our ideas could be successful. And we have.”
DEVCO Foods and Village Baker
The Sandy Village Baker quickly became a success. The quality of food, the restaurant’s look and feel, and its 5-star customer service earned it lots of new and loyal customers. Over the next few years, DEVCO found other like-minded partners to open additional locations in Lehi, Salt Lake City, and at the District in South Jordan. Plans include another location in Pleasant Grove.

David sees this successful early expansion as only the beginning. “Our vision is to open 10-15 more restaurants in Utah and then expand to the western U.S.,” said David. They are currently looking for passionate, hardworking, and detailed-oriented partner/operators who love the restaurant business and are looking for an opportunity to partner with them.
The Future of DEVCO Foods
Their story can be yours, too. If you have the entrepreneurial spirit, passion, and drive to succeed, running your own restaurant may be just around the next corner. David says, “Our future is bright as we plan to open the next Village Baker in Pleasant Grove, Utah and we are looking at several exciting opportunities with other well-known brands as well.
DEVCO has enjoyed amazing success because of its dedicated management team and proven processes. “When you become a partner/operator with us, you won’t have to go through trial and error,” says Lee, DEVCO’s co-founder and CFO. “You will be part of our team. Owner/Managers will not have to take on all of the risk of opening a restaurant and hoping it succeeds. We offer back end support in accounting, human resources, legal, training, inventory control and other tasks that restaurant owners typically have to deal with alone. The financial and operational support that DEVCO provides has been tried and proven successful for multiple restaurant owners,” Lee added.
If you dream of opening a new restaurant or expanding an existing concept but don’t have the experience or capital, DEVCO is your solution. DEVCO’s processes are designed to fit any food or beverage operation from a small shop to a multi-unit operation.
